The Basement is Almost Done!

Okay...only a few more days and then our basement is going to be done...kinda anyway. I'm actually not excited, because it's not a reality yet, and there's a lot of work left to do this weekend. I painted for four hours today...and probably have about 8 hours of painting left. I edge REALLY slow, and I have to edge the baseboard trim in the whole basement still...all 1,000 square feet of it! I still have to roll the stairs and half the first room when you come down too. I have been painting two hours during Abbie's nap and 2 -4 hours at night too...I had to paint the ceiling and prime all the walls twice and edge them before I could roll. Monday the floor guys come to install the wood floors in the exercise room, and then Tuesday they come to install the carpet. I'm really bummed Abbie's toys are going to take up some of the room in the basement because they are really not going with the color scheme I had planned for down there. The wall color is like a khaki/stone/tan kinda color...and I think it looks really sharp.

Anyway...here are some more pictures from Easter. Our happy little family! I dug out some great pictures of Scott and I when we were younger and I will have to get Scott to scan them in for me at work. Abbie and Scottie are like identical! Although I also think Abbie looks like a picture I have of Kyle a little bit.

Well...big day of painting tomorrow so I am off to bed. (I got to quit tonight because I was painting with so much pressure that I broke my pole) Maybe I will do that again tomorrow to get me out of painting...although I'm not rolling tomorrow I'm edging. Any ideas to get me out of that!?!

Happy 5th Birthday Jack!

Happy Birthday Jack! It's so hard to believe that you are already five years old! You are getting so big! I posted pictures from when you were a baby, your first birthday, second birthday, a three year old picture, and your fourth birthday! It has been so much fun watching you grow and get bigger each year. You can do so many things all by yourself now! We can't wait for you to come back to Indiana and visit us next weekend...we can't wait to celebrate your birthday with you, and play outside with you! Maybe we can all play golf in the backyard...that would be a lot of fun! And we should go to a park and play outside. We love you very much Jack! Happy Happy Happy Birthday to you!

Too Tired to Blog...

I know I haven't posted for almost a week...but I am too tired. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and today I have been working in the basement a ton. We had my mom babysit on Saturday afternoon while we worked down there...all the other days I have been down there both during naps and after Abbie goes to bed. Yesterday I was down there for almost 6 hours! The carpet and laminate floors are going to be installed on Tuesday, which gives us five more days to finishing everything...and there is a lot left to be done. I have been painting like crazy, and am sick of paint. It's nothing like painting a room...there's 1,000 square feet to be primed, edged, rolled, and corrections...and it is such a slow job! Plus the trim has to be painted, and the french doors had to be primed and painted. Aah! That's a lot to do. I picked the color out Monday, it's a little different then I thought it would be, but it will do. I almost have the workout room completely painted, just need to roll a second coat. Then on to edge the rest of the basement. At least all of the primer is up...just got the color left to do. Anyway...hopefully by this time next week we will be down there working out while Abbie is playing...wish us luck!

Oh..and the pictures are from Abbie's 18 month portraits. I emailed them out...but don't know if I screwed it up because nobody responded back...not that I need a response...just thought maybe I did something wrong. Still have to send out Easter pictures, it's taking awhile and I will probably never get them out. Who knows!

Falcon Family

Okay...I was too lazy to crop these pictures, and wasn't sure how great their quality would be...but this is my new obsession...

The Indianapolis Star and some people have these two Falcom Cams on Monument Circle monitoring a family of Falcons. I guess they have been doing this for years, I just learned about it for the first time about four days ago, and I am facinated. The web cam reloads once every minute, but you can still get some really cool pictures and views of the falcon's life. It's really neat when the dad brings in "dinner" and the mom rips it apart for the babies to eat. I caught a feeding this morning and sat impatiently waiting for each picture to load. Right now there are three babies and one egg left. I posted two pictures of the mom feeding her babies and one of her sitting on them. Check it out...it's quite cool! Oh...and it's a blog so it's fun to read what everyone writes under each days blog...you learn a lot and there are lots of links to other pictures that have happened so far in the years hatchings. http://blogs.indystar.com/falconblog/

I think this is my first non-Abbie blog...pretty amazing!!

Easter Day Egg Hunt...

Okay...so the potty pictures came before the Easter day pictures, I couldn't help that. So here is the first set of Easter day pictures...I am really enjoying posting three pictures at a time, all though I have to admit I am going to run out of pictures much faster this way and then go back to blogger's block from a lack of material! : ) !! I'll work on keeping it going though! Maybe with the nice weather I will get on a camera kick and keep taking tons of pictures.

We had an "Easter Egg Hunt" for Nick and Abbie on Easter monring. I really wouldn't say it was a hunt, because I just threw the eggs on the driveway in plain sight. Usually I hide eggs for Michael, John, Bry and my brothers in the backyard...and it's a lot of fun. But this year Michael and John didn't come to Easter, and the grass was wet, so I just scattered the eggs all over the driveway and that was perfect for Nick and Abbie. They loved putting the eggs in their buckets and dumping them out. They also had fun running around and kicking the eggs. It's so nice that they are so close in age!

More pictures to come from Easter...we got some family portraits and pictures of their Easter present from the Easter bunny...so stay tuned! Tomorrow we are going to the Children's Museum for another class and I have to sign Abbie up to go get 18 month portraits (as soon as I can pick out her outfits for the portraits...one for sure is her Easter dress...not sure of the other) so there will be more good pictures to come hopefully.

Today turned out to be a very nice day. We exchanged some stuff at Target with my mom, and then after Abbie's nap we sat out on the driveway with Kristi & Kalen to get some sun. I'm hoping tomorrow after the Children's Museum that Kristi & Kalen will come over again and sit out with me while Abbie takes her nap. We are going to miss having them around! Abbie loves Kalen...even when she's "sleepy" as Abbie says when Kalen is napping. Okay..I'm suppose to be watching a movie with Scott and I lost focus. We are watching The Greatest Game Ever Played...it's good so far. Back to the movie....

Potty Time!

Well...Abbie got a new potty today. She has really really gotten into sitting on the potty, and talking about pee pee and poop. Yesterday she tooted twice on the potty, boy are we making progress. So, while shopping today at Target we decided to get her two new potties to have so she can be a little more comfortable and not fall in.

Let me get this straight, I don't actually want her to be potty trained yet....I'm not prepared and she's definitely not prepared. But, so long as she is wanting to sit on the toilet, I am fine with her giving it a try.

She wasn't so sure about the new potty...in fact I think she likes to sit on the regular potty better, but she's probably just like me, doesn't like change. Or perhaps, I would start sitting on the Winnie the Pooh toilet also to show her it's okay! : ) !!

I was actually really impressed yesterday. I changed her diaper and put on our shoes and got ready to head out the door to play, and she told me "poop." I checked her, and sure enough she had pooped!

Well...I actually got some new workout clothes also at Target, so hopefully I will be inspired to actually put them on and then workout. I really like them, and they are really comfortable, but I think I will prohibit myself from wearing them unless I am working out. (Too bad I can't wear them golfing...that would count to me!)

I would like to post some cutes pictures from Easter still...so I will back track. But I couldn't resist popping these potty pictures up. Tomorrow we don't have anything planned as of yet. Since I skipped swimming yesterday, I may make it up tomorrow...go shopping at Castleton. I would like to get a couple sleeveless shirts...all my old ones are too big. Oh...and by the way I took the capris back, couldn't do it. But perhaps because they were low rise, and my belly doesn't fit into low rise pants anymore. Maybe I will find another pair, we will see. (I did buy two pairs of gaucho pants to go with my workout clothes though!)

Okay...yes I don't blog everyday but my blogs are long....longer than Mandy's..and that's gotta count for something. Her blog is www.felbieandrama.blogspot.com. Good night!

Easter Egg Hunt #1

Well, we went to Abbie's first Easter Egg Hunt today in Carmel. It was a lot of fun...although I admit I was nervous she wouldn't know what to do, and tried to have her practice before we left by putting balls on the floor of the family room...but Abbie was very "on task" during the hunt! I'm proud to say we got there early, because I'm usually late everywhere we go. We passed Grandma & Grandpa on Hazel Dell going for a walk, and honked and waved at them!!

Abbie was in the 2-3 year old age group...yes I fudged her age a little bit, but who could wait until 2 to do their first Easter Egg Hunt. We had to wait awhile for the hunt to begin, so Scott took Abbie over to meet the Easter Bunny (again), and they had a DJ blaring really good dance songs, so we did a lot of dancing. Abbie was dying to go get the eggs...so we were very excited when the finally let us go hunt! Abbie ran and grabbed lots of eggs. It last a whole minute or two, but it was totally cute, and she has been busy playing with her eggs all day. I have been cropping my pictures and trying to pick out my favorites, and am fianlly down to 27...so have quite a ways to go. I think I started in the 60's. Digital cameras are great but you end up taking so many more pictures, it's hard to choose the best. (Hence me posting 3 pictures today, instead of one.) I knew tomorrow I would take a ton more pictures I would want to post, so today there are three!

Scott and I played golf today....18 holes cart path only, which means your golf cart has to stay on the cart path. Well...when it's cart path only my ball is always as far from the cart path as can be, so I walked a lot today. We had a lot of fun and I'm excited that golf season has started. It's great alone time and time away from Abbie...and although we usually get paired with two other people we don't know, today we got to play just the two of us so it was really REALLY nice. Since I'm so girly now that I have Abbie...I even have a pink golf glove and colored balls! Well...I'm ditching the colored balls because they are hard to find...but I like my glove a lot! I guess it is kinda fun to be girly.

After Scott left for the track we went to Clay Terrace to meet up with his parents, Grandma & Grandpa. They were luckily at Lowes, and hadn't had dinner, so we went to Paradise Bakery and sat outside. It was so nice out. After we had something to eat we walked around Clay Terrace a little. Grandma taught Abbie to smell the flowers (she blows on them) and that was cute. She ran from flower pot to flower pot.

Well..I'm tired and sick of waiting for Scott to come home from the track, so I'm off the bed. Goodnight everyone and Happy Easter!

Hello Easter Bunny!

Okay...I know I emailed these out to family...but I gotta post it on here today since this is what we did today. We met Jacob & Amy at Castleton to go see the Easter Bunny and have lunch. We didn't point him out...but while getting out of her stroller near the Easter Bunny's area Abbie totally locked onto the Easter Bunny and was intrigued, yet insecure. Went we went to see him, I convinced her to touch his leg (or hers?!?), give him five, and say hello, but she would not sit with him. He even offered her his chair, and sat on the floor in front of her, but she would have nothing to do with that and began screaming. She digged sitting next to him on my lap, and smiled while looking at him and touching his hand, but not at the camera. The pictures not bad though...so that was that. Jacob went right up to him like it was nothing until he moved, and then he freaked out. It was cute!

After the Easter Bunny I went to the Gap and bought my first pair of capris...yes I caved. I hate "fads" and I have ridiculed capris for years, but I decided I need to get a pair. Ugh...

After that I made us all go to the pet store to hold a puppy...and it was cute. I don't understand how dogs formally known as muts are now at pet stores as new breeds...aka Yorkipoo, Cockapoo, Labradoodle. Isn't that when you own a Poodle and your damn neighbors Labrador mated with your dog and now you have puppies...how did that become a breed? Today I saw a Puggle...I shit you not. It was a Pug & Beagle mix...Ironically it was right next to a pug and a beagle. Somehow I'm not sure how they get $800 for a Puggle...when there is no such thing. Anyway...

Scott came home early from work to do some work from the house...and I got home way early from babysitting (only sat for an hour!). We had a nice dinner and then went to Clay Terrace to walk around and get some gelato. (Amazingly this is day #8 on Weight Watchers and I am still on it and doing good...no complaints yet, I have to lose the weight). We had a nice walk and enjoyed the nice weather together. (It was mid 80's today.)

Tomorrow we don't have any plans yet, but Nicole invited us to the Children's Museum with her so we might go. Just depends on our mood when we get up. It's nice to have a day of nothing, but it's also nice to spend time with friends you don't see a lot.

Scott and I have tee times for Saturday...like a date! Two weekends in a row! We dropped Abbie off at my moms last Saturday and went out to dinner. I got new golf shoes so I will be trying them out on Saturday..and maybe even my capris! (Although Scott hates capris too.)

Okay...off to relax...I wrote a ton!

Just for Mandy!

Mandy Baldwin that is...sorry Downer! Here is a picture of you and Abbie...it's been along time since I've taken one of the two of you...December! Maybe your mommy or Aunt Shawnie can send me their pictures from Sadie's birthday party...I don't have any! Anyway...Mandy, do you know your picture? I'm not sure that Abbie knows her face yet...but I'm sure you know yours. Here you go! Enjoy!!

Here's Abbie!

Wow...look at me, two posts within 24 hours! I need to be doing something else, but I somehow ended up in my bed on my laptop...so here's a blog. We went swimming today. Abbie did really well, especially since we had a week off due to spring break. She loved jumping in off the side of the pool.

We took Sassy to the vet this morning to get her stitch out...she had a wart removed 10 days ago when she had her teeth cleaned. We got done with the vet early enough to go visit Katie before swimming. It was a short visit...maybe 30 minutes...but nice to go say hello. Abbie didn't want to leave to go to swimming. She loves sitting at Katie's table and chairs.

After Abbie's nap Kristi and I are going to go for a walk on the Monon Trail. Hopefully I can keep up! : ) !! It's good that it's nice out so I can walk more...and my neighbor group is going to start walking again soon.

Scott's parents came over to help me figure out how much fabric I need for window treatments in my family room, dining room, and scrapbook room. I'm so excited to finally be adding window treatments in the dining room and family room. I'm really sad though that I have reached the point in my life that I get excited about window treatments....I'm almost grown up now!! I really like the fabric I picked out for the dining room...and now I have to pick out fabric for the seat cushions in the dining room, and curtains in the other two rooms. I already have the pattern picked out (but don't ask me what it is).

Tomorrow I am watching Ellie & Katie. Hopefully Abbie will take an early nap so we can make it to the afternoon babysitting job okay. I think it's suppose to be nice out...which would be nice...we can play outside at the afternoon job instead of sitting at the table like we normally do. There is a toddler a few months older than Abbie across the street at that house, so it will be nice if she comes out to play too...

Look...two pictures today! Abbie was trying to get the Easter Eggs to stay in the bucket and they kept rolling back out because of the angle the bucket was at. She was so frusterated...but it was so cute.

Okay...I need to go be productive while Abbie sleeps. Blog at ya later.

SORRY!!!!!!!

Okay...So I have been really lazy about posting. I even got on Mandy's case about posting on her blog, and she's posting like crazy (www.felbieandrama.blogspot.com) but I haven't posted in over a week. Well...I wish I could say it's because I haven't been on the computer, but it's probably actually because I've become readdicted to online euchre, and have been playing tournaments. Yes I am a geek. I will work on it. Hopefully I will get back on track. I have a ton of new pictures to post, and the Easter Bunny will have a visit from us...along with Easter pictures in general...so hopefully I will post more often. I wouldn't walk to let my little niece Mandy down, Abbie loves you Mandy. (And she loves Jack & Ryan!)

We painted about half the ceiling in the basement this weekend. Kristi came over to play Friday and Sunday. We went walking at Clay Terrace this afternoon. Abbie has swimming tomorrow, and then we might get another visit from Kalen & Kristi. Boy does Abbie love Kalen! Other than that, we have finally adjusted to the time change, but it took a week. I restarted Weight Watchers (this is day 4) because i have gained 10-15 lbs. since I got off it 2 months ago. I'm back to what I weighed in October :( ... so I need to move forward and get it back off. (Although I honestly feel I am just destined to be fat). Hopefully with the nice weather and the basement being finished Scott and I both will be more active and get in better shape. (Plus it's time for golf, I even got new golf shoes this weekend...and a pink glove and golf balls...I'm girly now!)

Okay..Scott just got home from the track 15 minutes ago...and he's been out since 9:00, so I need to go snuggle and then go to sleep. Sorry it's taken so long to post..I'll work on it.\

April Fools It Is!

Hello! Sorry about the April Fools...I was sitting here Saturday night alone because Scott was at the track and I was kinda sad because I went the whole day without trying any April Fools jokes. I know Denise, Shawn and Mandy at the very least read my blog...so I thought I would mess with them! : ) !! Got you! The funny thing is, I called Scott to tell him I posted I was pregnant on my blog (so he wouldn't blow it if Shawn or Denise called him) and he thought I was. Goofball...I told him if I was pregnant I wouldn't call him up at the track to tell him!

Scott's parents visited Abs this weekend. Here's a cute pic of the three of them. She loved showing off for them, and even gave both of them lots of kisses.

The basement is coming along great now. All the drywall and ceiling is done. Scott started putting up the trim this weekend and I would say he is 1/3 of the way done. We had someone set to come paint the basement, but Scott thinks that's going to be a bust, so I am all ready and prepared to paint next weekend or the weekend after. I haven't decided if the workout room is going to be a different color than the rest of the basement yet. I want the main part to be a khaki color...it will show upstairs from the staircase. I want the decor down there to be a lot of black with maybe some cranberry colored accents. I had this great idea in my head for design, then realized all of Abbie's huge MULTICOLORED toys will be down there; the house, tent, climber, police car, fire truck, etc. So...I guess it's not going to be as pretty as I was imagining. So...any picks on the color of the exercise room...either the same as the rest, or a different color idea, let me know. Maybe rainbow! : ) !!

Okay, Ellie is getting dropped off in 20 minutes and I am laying in bed. Not handling Day Light Savings really well here yet. I couldn't get settled last night to go to bed, and definitely not done sleeping yet this morning. It looks like tonight I will be taking a Tylenol PM to get myself settled early. Abbie went to bed at 8:45 last night...yikes! Rumor has it I should wake her up to get her back to schedule but...I like her in bed! At least until Ellie comes. Allright...to the shower!

Baby on the Way!

Gosh..I'm getting bad about blogging. Here's a picture of Kristi's baby, Kalen. She was born Thursday at 5:16 pm I think...weighing 6 lbs. 9 oz. She is just precious. I can't wait to get my hands on her again. On another note, I will be getting my hands on another baby in just a few months, as Scott and I found out we are expecting again! I wanted to lose more weight before I gained weight with another pregnancy...but I guess that's not the plan. Well...I would like to blog more but Abbie is disagreeing with my plan for her to sleep, so more news to come. In the meantime...isn't Kalen just precious!
